What is Ginseng?
Ginseng is the most famous Asian medicinal herb that has been used in Chinese medicine for promoting vitality and maintaining the balance of the energy in human body. Its usage can be traced back over approximately 5000 years. Ginseng roots can live longer than hundreds of years. Price of Ginseng is often determined by the time it was allowed to grow before harvesting. High quality Ginseng roots need mature time for up to 5 years or longer. The older the root, the greater the concentration of ginsenosides, the active chemical compounds, thus the more potent the ginseng becomes.
Which kind of Ginseng is SinoVeda Ginseng?
SinoVeda is using high quality standardized extract of Panax ginseng root as the starting material of SinoVeda Ginseng.
I have read that Ginseng has adaptogenic effects on the body. What is an adaptogen?
Adaptogen is a specific category of herbs that non-specifically help the body adapt to both physical and environmental stress. Panax Ginseng is considered an adaptogen. It regulates the metabolism of the body to be normalized and balanced, particularly in stressful conditions.

What are the active ingredients of SinoVeda Ginseng?
SinoVeda develops herbal products with the basic premise that a compound must be absorbed into the bloodstream before it produces the desired effect. The biologically active ingredients in Panax ginseng are triterpene saponins known as ginsenosides. At least 30 ginsenosides have been isolated and characterized, of which Rg1, Rc, Rd, Rb1, Rb2, and Re are the most important. Using our proprietary PPT® technology, we identify the ginsenosides that will be absorbed and ensure that each capsule of SinoVeda Ginseng contains guaranteed amounts of these active ingredients. They are the Essential Ingredients Profile on SinoVeda Ginseng label.
Should I consult my health care professional before I take Ginseng?
You should consult your health care professional first if you have any of these conditions: Diabetes (Ginseng may slightly reduce blood glucose levels); If you are taking phenelzine (MAO-inhibitor); If you are taking estrogens or corticosteroids; If you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant; If you are a nursing mother. Panax Red Ginseng should generally be avoided if you are hot tempered, irritable, nervous, prone to headaches, asthma, or if you have acute infectious diseases with fever, insomnia, palpitations, infections, colds, or the flu.
How should I use SinoVeda Ginseng?
SinoVeda Ginseng is formulated as a small capsule size 3 that you can easily swallow. Take it with a large drink of water, with or without food.
What is the recommended dosage for SinoVeda Ginseng?
The recommended dosage is 1-2 caps. of 100 mg Ginseng two times a day. You can take Ginseng first thing in the morning and then at any time during the day or when you feel tired. It is not recommended though to take Ginseng late in the evening. Due to its stimulating effect, it can affect your sleep. If Ginseng is being used over a long period of time then short breaks of 2-3 weeks should be included in the therapy.
How long until I feel the results?
Being natural adaptogen, Ginseng will yield different results in different patients. Herbal products generally need some time to reach the saturation point and to be effective on the body. Also, every person is different and while some individuals may notice a difference within a week or two it is best to give it at least 6 -12 weeks to produce consistent effects on increased energy levels, libido, vitality and well-being. Stress reduction effects may take a little longer but if a person is feeling more energy and vitality this will also help reduce stress levels, as the individual will have a feeling of being healthier.
What medicines may interact with Ginseng?
Phenelzine (MAO-inhibitor), estrogens or corticosteroids may interact with Ginseng.

Ginseng is not associated with serious side effects if taken at the recommended dosage. If you experience any of these side effects, stop usage and report those to your heath care professional: Elevated blood pressure, Headache (in conjunction with phenelzine intake), Manic episodes (in conjunction with phenelzine intake). Rare side effects that do not require medical attention are: diarrhea, headaches, insomnia, irritability, nausea, vomiting, nervousness, rash, restlessness.
